Every jar of tallow I make is completely essential oil free, and that’s not a compromise — it’s a choice rooted in intention, skin science, and a whole lot of love for what nature already gave us.
I don’t rely on essential oils for scent or “wow” factor. Instead, I slowly infuse whole herbs and botanicals into organic oils over time — letting the plants speak for themselves. That long, slow infusion process draws out the nutrients, antioxidants, and skin-soothing properties in a way that’s deeply nourishing and completely non-irritating.
Each blend I create is made to solve a specific skin need. I thoughtfully choose each oil — jojoba, baobab, raspberry seed, sea buckthorn, apricot kernel and more — depending on what that formula is meant to do. Whether it's calming redness, supporting aging skin, balancing oil production, or healing dryness — every drop in your jar has a purpose.
Here’s the thing: essential oils aren’t for everyone. They can be harsh, sensitizing, and are especially not recommended for babies, young children, or those with reactive skin. I know that firsthand. That’s why Cowboy & Co. products are — and always will be — essential oil free.
So no, my tallow won't smell like a spa, a citrus grove, or a synthetic vanilla cupcake. And that’s okay. What you will smell is real. Clean. Subtle. Sometimes herbal, sometimes earthy, always gentle.
